Why would I join and use a Coaching and List Building
Club vs “Branding” Myself and being my own “Guru?”

Great question.

We’ve been teaching and practicing “Attraction Marketing”
since 2001-ish… that’s almost 10 years…

That’s since BEFORE the online “goo-roos” started
distorting and hijacking it…

Today – the original form of “Attraction Marketing”
is NOT what is taught. Instead – fast talkers have been
selling you a version that has never really worked…

We call it:

EGO – Marketing

And it’s a futile attempt at selling marketing “snake oil.”

It doesn’t (and never has) worked or duplicated…

Not for the normal person anyway…

Sure – if you’re already a great promoter with lots
of charisma, experience and great presentation and
communication skills – sure – obviously, this would
be a piece of cake for you… because if you’re all that…

YOU are already a great sales and marketing person.

That’s the whole goal – getting you there.

Most people (the vast majority) are NOT…

In fact, most of the marketplace here is TOTALLY
BRAND NEW to all of this…

No confidence
No presentation skills
No communication skills
No marketing or promotion skills
No advertising skills
No marketing experience
No sales experience
No promotion experience
No marketing TEACHING experience
No experience with Direct Response Marketing

Yet the online “goo-roos” are immediately teaching
BRAND NEW people NOT to brand anything or
anyone else and not to promote ANYTHING except
THEMSELVES as the “guru…”

Common sense…

Is it any surprise why most people struggle to
cut a profit or build a list or make any money at all?

It’s like the dumb leading the blind…

It sounds good…

It hits your “ego” gland…

So it sells good…

And UNknowing newbies buy this every day…

And they immediately ignore the most powerful
force in this industry right out of the gate and
doom themselves to TOO MUCH work spinning
their wheels and getting no results…

They say no to “Simple” and to LEVERAGE…

Look – if you’re not well polished in marketing skills
the last thing you are qualified to do is to put yourself
on a deserted marketing island and attempt to isolate
yourself thinking that you will attract people to you
all by yourself… it’s won’t happen. It can’t.

Why?

Because people are not that stupid.

They have common sense…

Just look at all the desperate and repelling videos
on youtube that lead you to all the repelling and
desperate “pitch” sites online… and ask yourself this…

Do THEY attract you?

Do you feel like you would want to sign up
with them and DO what they are doing?

Most new people stick out like a sore thumb…

They look like Deer in Headlights… scared, nervous
and jittery – UNtrained, UNconvincing, UNcompelling…

They are NOT well organized and don’t know where
their marketing pieces are going – so it’s just dead
work – dead space and actually working to KILL their
business which usually NEVER gets off the ground…

They are literally killing themselves in business…

Yet their “guru” is telling them to go out there and
“BRAND” themselves and “GET OUT THERE”
and that the worst advice you can ever give…

Here’s the REALITY of it all…

(this part can really help you save lots of time and money…)

Here’s the short version:

In the beginning – it would be foolish to ONLY “brand”
yourself and stick out like a sore newbie thumb repelling people…

You have to be SMART and DO BOTH!!!!!

Do you ever wonder why the “goo-roos” are always
selling the extremes of “This vs That” instead of teaching
the truth which is:

“You need to learn EVERYTHING little by little in
ways that make sense for your business!”

Why don’t they teach that instead?

At first you do LIGHT branding and LEVERAGE into
a TEAM SYSTEM, TRAINING etc because normal people
can see that they can DUPLICATE that simple process…

YOU LEVERAGE the experienced and community of a TEAM.

Then as your own skills in presenting and teaching
and marketing improve – you then begin to brand YOU
more up front and on the back end in follow up and
take more a leadership role…

IT IS A PROCESS.

When this is explained properly, people “get it” fast
and can see the common sense approach. They can
see that it is DUPLICABLE by new people.

Telling a brand new person to BRAND YOURSELF
and NOT to promote anything or any team or any
system other than YOU when you don’t know what
you are doing is business SUICIDE!

NO OTHER business in the world does it that way…

NO OTHER sales career on the planet does that…

It’s just common sense…

SO…

WHY?

WHY do the “goo-roos” pitch and sell you this
“brand yourself” like a fool approach???

Because it sells fast as it appeals directly to
your EGO and your DESIRE to wannabe some
“celebrity” “rock star” – everyone watches and
secretly wants to be their own “Reality TV SHOW”
and this gets SOLD to you…

It’s a fast, easy sell that does NOT work…

It takes EFFORT and SKILL to do this well
and that takes TIME to learn and improve…

The REAL way is not taught because most
“goo-roos” are just wannabe “marketers”
that learned how to “quick talk” on videos
and make things “sound good” but they have
NO – NONE – NO prior successful experience
in the REAL marketing or sales or business
world…

They are simply “parroting” or repeating what
their “slick” goo-roo taught them…

The other way takes real coaching…

Because it’s not sounding as SEXY or EASY
and they think it won’t sell you as fast as:

“OH man this is the GREATEST – man yeah
just get in NOW and then brand yourself!!!!! You’ll
make millions (they’re broke) like me really fast!!”

See – that’s what they sell you…

The truth is you MUST do both:

1. LEVERAGE a TEAM, TRAINING SYSTEM and
LIST BUILDING SYSTEM that builds your list and
makes you good money while keeping things simple
and uniform so any new guy can do it…

2. You lightly “brand” yourself using “Get to know me”
tools and sites like facebook, autoresponder emails, light
videos on youtube and a simple blog…

And (genius part) AS YOU LEARN TO BRAND
YOU BETTER – you increase the branding and take
more marketing control of the “front end” of your business…

See – real marketers learn to DO BOTH and increase
their branding later as their skills develop…

If you don’t… then you’re only going to scare aways
many SMART newbies that figure out they can’t do
or duplicate all that slick stuff and “it smells like a pitch…”

That’s why light branding to get to know people or
attract people and “break the ice” a bit helps and then
you LEVERAGE a training platform and list building
system like Simple Freedom and GET OUT OF YOUR
OWN WAY to build your list…

YES – you can use a cheaper monthly “system.”

But this is the lesson I learned:

Those have grown to be over complicated and many
other people use HEAVY “Build Doubt and Cross Promote”
tactics to steal people away…

And then they only pay a measly $17 commission
which won’t get it done my friend…

Ours is a one time $365 pay once and you’re done
then you stream in a full $200 per sale plus $100 bonus
for each time your own customers make a sale (passive income)

And that stream helps you play REAL marketing
and advertiser so you can build UP instead of just
treading water…

THE LONG VERSION IS NEXT…

The “Branding and being your own guru” versus leveraging
a team or system or community…

Some people CAN brand themselves and sell.

MOST can’t.

The rough thing is that no matter where
they go – they are ALWAYS going to be
leveraging SOMETHING…

They can’t just join a program and then
all of a sudden BAMMO- they are “branding”
themselves…

When you’re new you need to do BOTH…

That’s what NOBODY likes to teach…

But it’s the ONLY way I finally started making
money… I would start by hanging out in discussion
forums, meeting and networking with other marketers
looking to learn more skills…

The way I guess people use facebook now…

And as I learned things – I’d share it in these
forums… similar to posting facebook notes
now… same concept…

The plan was to offer them so much free basic
training content that eventually they’d ask me
specific questions and send me emails or messages…

I’d then refer them to my lead capture page
(my own) and offer them more tips and training
through my emails (newsletter)…

I do the same thing now.

I wasn’t a “guru” or experienced or anything…

SO in the follow up emails they’d get
invites to my “TEAM’S” training calls
and a look at our system and then of course
it would lead to my primary program…

SAME thing basically as MLSP and JBudd’s systems.

Those worked fine when they just came out
because it was SO SIMPLE…

Just an invite to free training… into a lead capture
system and then into the team’s training platform…

The problem became that as more people
came in and more experienced people asked
for more bells and whistles… it ceased to be
simple and it became more of a problem…

Info overload – Overwhelm – Confusion…

How do I brand myself?

How do I promote my primary?

Etc…

More of a problem… too many moving
parts – so we created our own…

With ours we give new people a complete
working system…

But it’s on their own server (lead capture page)
and their own autoresponder…

So they don’t waste 6 months etc trying
to “build their own”

Then as they get more comfortable, they
can tweak their own capture page – add more
of them – keep it simple just advertise, offer
free training and build your list…

They then leverage our team training.
The training site and training blog and
on our training calls…

To help the real newbies that still can’t
swing all that on their own…

Their follow up emails have links to
their “primary” programs.. .so they are
directly leading their prospects into their
main program…

AS SOON AS THEY FEEL COMFORTABLE,
they can brand more of the “back end”
training simply by creating their own
training blog posts, videos etc just like
I do…

Everyone at their own pace.

Some start doing more of it themselves
quicker – others take more time and appreciate
that they can refer to the “team” to do the big
training – as they convert bits and pieces into
emails, facebook notes, blog posts, vids etc…

You can ALWAYS brand you on the front end.

I do it all the time on YouTube, my Blog
and facebook (it’s where we met!)

So those are branding sites where you can
attract folks through posts and time…

Always then refering to the lead capture page
to begin BUSINESS talk… that is the marketing
funnel and MANY PEOPLE SCREW THIS UP!

Plain and simple.

They do TOO MUCH branding into their
“branded” and “video” capture pages and if
it’s not quick, clean and polished… they most
times REPEL people away too soon…

This is a CLASSIC salesmanship mistake:

Talking yourself OUT of a sale…

So it takes a bit of training to “get” the nuances
but its important.

You brand you up front and keep it
personal, light and quick… more YOU
less “business” or “pitching”

Simple invites to free training or
a free call does the trick…

Curious people flow to your lead capture page
which is LESS about YOU, Inc and more about
getting down to business and getting aways
from the simple sales and marketing process.

This is where MANY people drop the ball
with MLSP and ANY other “system” which
“trains” people to IMMEDIATELY “BRAND” you
but that’s NEVER been correct.

It’s NEVER the way we learned and taught
attraction marketing back in 2004+…

That “training” is incomplete…

You do “light” branding to before your
real funnel to let people know you’re a
normal person sharing info and not a
scammer… facebook works good, youtube
and blogs work good here…

Tips, quotes, mindset and marketing training
snippets etc… just direct response curiousity
marketing…

Then a simple invite to your lead capture page.

That’s where I GET OUT OF THE WAY of the
marketing funnel…

I let my capture page present an offer.

All about the prospect and the offer.

Almost nothing about me… they saw that
on facebook, blogs, vids etc…

OR

They just received a cold add or post card…

Either way – at the capture page it’s all about
building that list and getting that lead.

The branding can start up again with the
follow up emails – directing to maybe
a longer training tip on a blog post or vid
and always inviting people to two places:

1. Free training system and call etc

2. Primary program

Then of course – as the follow up system
moves along – the branding becomes more
and more…

Like:

“Call me or email me with any questions etc…”

“Here’s a free sample from a book we recommend
on list building…”

Etc…

Always trying to build a better relationships
and invite the prospect to make contact so you
can talk options and business…

Anyway…

This is why a training CLUB is SO IMPORTANT

There is really NO WAY to teach the subtleties
of this marketing in messages, emails or even
phone calls…

It’s a PROCESS and an EXPERIENCE and that
takes coaching, experience, trial and mentorship…

Just like in real estate… our broker would
never try to show you the “system” via email…

It was our weekly meeting every single week…

Leverage the firm until you can properly
brand and work 100% on your own…

Same as any sales and marketing business really…
